For the sixth consecutive year, PADI® Dive Centers and Resorts will host thousands of divers for PADI Women’s Dive Day, a global celebration of shared adventure, passion and ocean conservation. This year, divers across the globe will join forces on 15 July 2023 for a worldwide ocean cleanup taking place in hundreds of event locations around the world. The day is dedicated to building a strong community that encourages people – male and female alike – to become torchbearers who explore and protect the ocean, and to raise awareness about the importance of taking action to save the ocean.

Committed to fostering a global community that encourages divers of all genders, ages and experience levels to safely and confidently explore and protect the underwater world, PADI launched the first PADI Women’s Dive Day in 2015. With the overwhelming support of the dive community over the last five years, PADI Women’s Dive Day has grown into a worldwide celebration that brings everyone together – not just women – to turn passion into purpose for the ocean. Since the inception of PADI Women’s Dive Day, events around the globe have naturally taken on conservation causes at their core, giving divers the opportunity to get involved, give back and have a positive impact on ocean health.

“It’s exciting to see how PADI Women’s Dive Day is continuing to grow and evolve to further build an engaged and welcoming diving community and a coalition of torchbearers who seek adventure and save the ocean,” says Kristin Valette Wirth, Chief Marketing Officer of PADI Worldwide. “It’s naturally transitioned into a day celebrating conservation that everyone can get involved in. When the family of PADI Dive Centers, Resorts and Professionals unite for a common cause, together, our cumulative actions not only make a difference on local beaches and dive sites, but also inspire others around the world to care and take action – in and out of the water.”

Start making plans to invite your community, both divers and nondivers, to join you for an ocean (or freshwater habitat) cleanup event in celebration of PADI Women’s Dive Day on 15 July 2023. Plan an event that has a positive impact on local and global marine ecosystems by surveying and removing marine debris, whether through a Dive Against Debris® or a beach cleanup. Better yet, plan both so your divers can invite nondiving friends and family to get involved. Event registration information is coming soon.

By hosting a PADI Women’s Dive Day ocean cleanup event, you exemplify what it means to be a PADI Torchbearer – passing the torch and passion for the ocean to your community and beyond.
