The International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) is a global consortium of leading resuscitation councils and medical experts dedicated to improving outcomes from sudden cardiac arrest and other life-threatening cardiopulmonary emergencies. ILCOR regularly evaluates emerging scientific evidence and publishes international consensus statements that inform best practices in CPR and first aid worldwide.
Emergency First Response® (EFR®) programs align with ILCOR recommendations where applicable and implement any relevant updates when protocols are revised. This alignment ensures that EFR programs reflect the latest, most credible and internationally recognized standards in emergency care.
Following a detailed review of the 2024 ILCOR Consensus on Science with Treatment Recommendations (CoSTR), no changes to current EFR standards are required. The 2024 statement reinforces the effectiveness of existing resuscitation methods, with ILCOR emphasizing continued adherence to current protocols.
