The European Resuscitation Council (ERC) have released guidelines for 2025. The 2025 ERC Guidelines present the most up-to-date, evidence-based guidelines for the practice of resuscitation across Europe. The new guidelines are based on evidence produced by the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) in the form of systematic reviews, scoping reviews and evidence updates, published as the ILCOR Consensus on Science with Treatment Recommendations.
Emergency First Response® (EFR®) programs align with ILCOR recommendations where applicable and implement any relevant updates when protocols are revised. This alignment ensures that EFR programs reflect the latest, most credible and internationally recognized standards in emergency care.
Following a detailed review of the 2025 ERC Guidelines, no changes to current EFR standards are required. The 2025 Guidelines reinforce the effectiveness of existing resuscitation methods.
