Continuing education is not accidental. It is built.
The 2025 PADI Master Scuba Diver™ Challenge winners didn’t just issue certifications. They created momentum. They moved divers beyond entry-level. They increased engagement, retention and long-term value.
In a year where attention is fragmented and margins matter, these Pros and Dive Centers proved that intentional progression drives measurable impact.
Here’s what that looked like in their own words.
Pacific Ocean Sports (Five Star Instructor Development Center) | PADI Americas

“Every 2025 Master Scuba Diver I certify feels personal. It’s about passing what I know forward, keeping the bar high and getting to watch students really strive for this — putting in the work as patience, guidance and challenge turning a love for diving into true mastery.” 🌊🤿
Y-kiki Divers (Five Star Instructor Development Center) | PADI Americas
“At Y-kiki Divers, owner Valerie Elliott has always encouraged students to embrace the PADI Master Scuba Diver Challenge, which allows her to offer dive trips requiring advanced skills. When PADI offered incentives to divers working toward their MSD rating, Valerie recognized the pool of entrants would be large.
We launched an in-house challenge to encourage more divers to participate and have a better chance to win a prize. In 2025, we had almost 400 entries comprised of customers who completed specialties, AOWD, Rescu and/or achieved their MSD rating. We expect 2026 to have more entries (over 40 already), with many of the 2025 students achieving their MSD rating this year. The goal at Y-kiki Divers is to prepare students for a lifetime of diving adventures by offering a solid foundation of basic and advanced training.“

Marlena Neal (Course Director) | PADI Americas

“Scuba diving offers a unique intersection of physical rehabilitation, mental health support and social connection, making it a powerful therapeutic tool. Missing a leg? Senior Diver? All the adventures, without judgment, impediments or excuses. We just get you there.“
ABC Dive (Five Star Instructor Development Center) | PADI EMEA
“This recognition belongs to our instructors, divemasters and divers who commit themselves to growth every day. Winning the PADI Master Scuba Diver Challenge for the second consecutive year reflects the culture, teamwork and dedication behind developing confident, capable Master Scuba Divers and guiding them to the highest recreational level in diving.”

Corrado Santoli (Master Instructor) | PADI EMEA
“Over many years of teaching, I have always believed in and supported continuing education. Receiving recognition from PADI EMEA as one of the winners of the Master Scuba Diver Challenge, which represents the highest point of this journey, is a unique and indescribable emotion. It is an award that honors years of dedication, passion and commitment to this wonderful discipline.
I believe that teaching scuba diving does not simply mean passing on skills; it means sharing a way of life and, above all, doing the most beautiful job in the world.
This year, the recognition from the Master Scuba Diver Challenge completes a wonderful journey of 35 years as a PADI Member, shared day by day with my close friend and fellow PADI Master Instructor, Andrea Catellani, with whom I would like to share this important and meaningful achievement.“
Paul French (Course Director) | PADI EMEA
“I am super delighted to have won this award, learning to dive in the UK isn’t always the easiest of choices, but I believe it’s one of the best choices you can make. My ethos since I became a PADI Instructor has always been about making more skillful and confident divers. The master scuba diver program supports that by recognizing divers that invest in themselves and their training. This reward therefore isn’t for me; it’s for the divers that became Master Scuba Divers in 2025 with us. So a massive congratulations to them!”

Auckland Scuba (Five Star Instructor Development Center) | PADI AP
“We are really proud of this achievement and would like to thank our dedicated staff and the dive community that we serve for helping us to accomplish this. We are committed to continuing diver education and enjoy introducing divers to a variety of different specialties.”
James McLeish (Master Instructor) | PADI AP
“I am honored to receive this award for doing something that I love and sharing that passion for the underwater world with other divers. While this recognition means a lot to me, it is seeing my students start, progress and succeed in their own diving journeys that drives me as an instructor.”
Master Divers (Five Star Course Director Center) | PADI AP
“We’re very proud that our team’s hard work and dedication have paid off. Receiving this recognition is both an honor and a motivation to keep raising the standard.”
