Grab a drink in the Sheraton New Orleans Hotel lobby and join PADI Staff as we’re guided down the streets of New Orleans by a Grand Marshal and second-line brass band to the doors of the PADI Social venue. At The Fillmore, you’ll get to mix and mingle with members from around the world, join in PADI’s 60th Anniversary celebrations, hear the latest from PADI Worldwide President and CEO Drew Richardson on the state of the industry, and look ahead to 2027.

The Equalization Exchange: Freedivers, Mermaids & Industry Gathering

This two-hour event is for PADI Freediver and PADI Mermaid Instructors and Instructor Trainers, as well as dive centers and resorts interested in offering or expanding these programs.

The first hour is dedicated to Freedivers and Mermaids, during which you’ll connect with peers, celebrate achievements and strengthen your community in a relaxed, social setting. In the second hour, dive centers and resorts join to expand the conversation through networking and partnership-building. Explore opportunities to collaborate, grow your programs and connect with professionals shaping the future of these disciplines.

Whether you’re building your network, sharing expertise, or exploring new business opportunities, this event brings the community together to strengthen, bolster, and support one another.


DEMA 2024 live panelist

Miniseminars, Workshops, and Leadership Sessions at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center

Join these engaging and dynamic one-hour miniseminars or two-hour workshops at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center during the week of the DEMA Show. By attending both the Quality and Risk Management and PADI Standards: Year in Review miniseminars, along with two additional presentations, PADI Members can regain Teaching status after having not renewed for one to three years. To earn seminar credits toward the PADI Master Instructor rating or the Course Director Training Course application, PADI Members receive one credit for every three one-hour PADI miniseminars attended.

Workshops may include a panel of your peers, hands-on help, and the opportunity for questions and collaboration. PADI Members receive three credits for every two-hour PADI miniseminar workshop attended. Attendance validation is required for credit and forms will be available at the seminars.

Hear directly from operators who are successfully using PADI AdventuresÔ and tools within the PADI digital ecosystem to grow their businesses. With guidance from PADI Staff and experienced peers, you’ll work on your own Adventures listings – learning how to create, optimize and position them to drive more conversions. AI for Growing the Next Generation of Divers – Practical, Scalable Applications for a Dive Business

This is session one of two in the AWARE seminar series.

As PADI marks 60 years of exploring and protecting the ocean, one truth has become clear: the future of diving and the future of the ocean are inseparable. In this session, the PADI AWARE Foundation® will share how the global dive community is evolving from participants to powerful contributors in ocean conservation. Training

Stay current, confident and informed with the latest updates in diver training, standards and risk management. These sessions are designed to support instructional quality, safety and operational excellence across your business.

Quality and Risk Management (Required for credit)

This session will be offered in English and Spanish.
Risk management begins with preventing incidents and developing a solid plan for responding to unexpected events. Assess your preparedness to make difficult decisions by analyzing real dive incidents and prioritizing what matters most: diver safety. Additionally, you will learn how to manage risk in diver-education programs and throughout your dive business by examining common consumer complaints and issues identified in Course Evaluation Questionnaires (CEQs), and the most frequently reported injuries.

PADI Standards: Year in Review (Required for credit)

Training standards directly impact your daily teaching practices, so it’s important to integrate any changes and updates into your programs. This miniseminar will review the changes released this year. You can also get answers to frequently asked questions and learn how to stay informed about the latest training news.

Separating Fact from Fiction in Diver Training

Explore the beliefs, urban legends and common misconceptions that continue to shape diver training today. In this lively, interactive session, discover current best practices, challenge outdated thinking and gain fresh perspectives that can strengthen your teaching and diver education programs.

Emergency First Response Instructor Trainer

As an Emergency First Response® Instructor Trainer, you’ll expand your teaching opportunities and boost your income by training others to become EFR® Instructors. This half-day virtual program is open to EFR Instructors who have completed the preparatory online components and have conducted at least five EFR courses or issued at least 25 EFR course completion cards.
