Emergency First Response® would like to congratulate the following Emergency Responders who put their training into action when called upon to offer assistance.

In Thailand

Emergency Responder: Steve Adamson

Action: After finishing a holiday on Koh Samui, Steve and his wife, Angela, boarded the car ferry back to the mainland. As they returned to their car, she slipped and landed on a sharp metal triangle used to stop cars from shifting on the ferry deck, splitting her knee open. With no first-aid kit available, he made use of a beach towel and two belts to make a temporary dressing. Once the ferry arrived back at the mainland, he took Angela to the hospital, where the emergency room staff dressed her wound before expressing their admiration for his ingenuity. She received eight stitches and fully recovered.

In Malta

Emergency Responder: Aurelien Ghion

Action: Ghion was on the beach with fellow students after an afternoon scuba dive when he witnessed a person having a cardiac arrest. The rescue team on the spot quickly attended to the victim, and Ghion helped by carrying their equipment and assisting them with resuscitation maneuvers. Unfortunately, the victim could not be saved, but the experience contributed greatly to Ghion’s desire to further develop his first-aid skills and to keep his EFR Primary and Secondary Care certification up to date.

EFR® Instructor Trainer: Patrick Ghion (#903642)
