Based on the rave reviews of IDC eLearning released late last year, Open Water Diver eLearning is launching in the same cutting-edge browser-based learning platform. The course content is formatted to keep the learner engaged with easy navigation, supporting graphics and video, and learning reinforcement through interactive knowledge checks. Content dynamically adjust to whatever device the student diver chooses to use – laptop or desktop computer, tablet or smartphone.

Clear directions and a user-friendly learning portal allow students to progress through the program knowing exactly what they’ve completed and what’s to come. Every assessment – Knowledge Reviews, Quizzes and the Final Exam – provide feedback that assures the learner reviews key concepts. A and B versions of the Final Exams are included just in case retesting is required.

Although the best option is to study online, student divers can use the PADI Training app to download sections for offline study when internet access isn’t available. This makes it convenient to continue studying while commuting or traveling.

Open Water Diver eLearning is available in Chinese (Traditional and Simplified), Dutch, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean and Spanish, with additional languages launching in the future.

How to use it?

  • Assign students an eLearning Access Code from your PADI Online Processing Center (OLPC). All your existing eLearning codes will be mapped to work for the new eLearning products. Note that if the new eLearning product does not yet exist in a student’s language, you can continue to send codes for the existing eLearning (Touch) product.
  • Students return to eLearning the same way they currently do by going to padi.com and under Sign In selecting PADI eLearning for Students, then logging in. The new eLearning product will be visible on their learning portal dashboard.
  • You continue to be able to see student eRecords by selecting the “Score“ button in the OLPC.
