PADI are Presenting Partner for the inaugural edition of ABOFA 2026, taking place from 9 to 12 September, 2026, at the Aqaba International Exhibition Centre in Aqaba, Jordan.
ABOFA, Aqaba Blue: Ocean Future in Action, brings together the diving, marine technology, water sports, tourism and blue economy sectors in Aqaba, at the heart of the Red Sea. The event creates a new regional meeting point for the people and businesses shaping the future of ocean industries in the Middle East.
PADI will bring together the dive community from across the Middle East to celebrate ocean adventure and unite as Ocean Torchbearers — working collectively for a healthier, more sustainable blue planet. ABOFA 2026 gives PADI Divers, Pros, Dive Centers and regional partners a shared space to connect with the PADI team, hear what is coming next, celebrate regional achievements and support the continued growth of diving in the Middle East.
From the PADI Member Forum and adaptive techniques training sessions, to dive center workshops and risk management seminars, the event program is built to support PADI Members in the region to stay informed and empowered to continue growing the dive industry across the Middle East in 2026 and beyond.

Further details on award categories, nominations and participation will be shared with PADI Members in the coming months.
Adaptive Techniques Instructor Training
PADI EMEA is delivering an Adaptive Techniques Instructor Training Program for selected PADI Instructors from Aqaba and GCC countries. Successful candidates will be qualified to teach the PADI Adaptive Techniques Speciality course.
There will be opportunities for interested PADI Dive Centers to learn about the PADI Adaptive Service Facilities accreditation and how to take your next steps. This program begins before the event and concludes during ABOFA 2026, helping more PADI Professionals and dive businesses build the skills and awareness needed to welcome divers with different needs.
Risk Management Seminar
We are hosting a Risk Management Seminar – Sustainable Dive Ventures for dive center owners and managers. The session focuses on the foundations of safe and sustainable dive operations, including standard operating procedures, emergency action plans, legal risk and regulatory considerations.
Participants will receive a certificate of participation, with practical takeaways to support a stronger safety culture and more consistent operating practices within their businesses.
PADI Workshops for Dive Centers
PADI will host workshops during ABOFA 2026 to support dive center business development and regional growth. These sessions are designed to help PADI Dive Centers strengthen their business, engage new divers and support the continued development of Jordan as a diving destination.
