During May, Hi Diver – a group of enthusiastic PADI Instructors – organized a Diving Festival at the Alsafa Sports club in Safwa with the objective to promote diving activities and introduce new souls to the underwater world.
The festival was inaugurated by PADI Master Scuba DiverTrainer Fouad Al-Shobar, Senior Diving instructor and mentor of many divers in the region – Ali Al Salman, General Supervisor of the Festival – Mushtaq Al Meyer, marine life ambassador ….. in addition to some esteemed celebrities and renowned sports personalities.
The festival, held during the week-end 17/18 of May, included several diving related activities, supported by local PADI diving centers and Instructors:
- lectures on diving, corals and the underwater world
- free Discover Scuba Diving in the sports club swimming pool
- painting
- photography
- diving with mental/physical imparity and/or disabilities
… without forgetting the huge support of the animation team, committed in organizing games and competitions for the whole duration of the event.
More than 700 people visited the festival during the two-days event, 250 Discover Scuba Diving were run by more than 40 PADI Pros with students ranging from 10 to 59 years!
