The whole travel and tourism industry has been through a challenging time since the Novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak began in January. However, with their great dedication and impressive efforts, some PADI Chinese IDC dive centers were still able to successfully promote their Go Pro courses. Here are some insights from three of these Chinese IDC dive centers across Asia Pacific areas.

A total of 23 IE candidates from 6 different IDC centers in the Philippines have become PADI Instructors on 14th and 15th Feb.

Borneo Unlimited Marine Sports S/B

The team at Borneo Unlimited Marine Sports S/B started doing daily live streaming on TikTok, a popular video-sharing and social networking platform in mainland China, since late February.  Each instructor was asked to pick a specific topic and as a result, diverse content has been covered. This content ranged from PADI Open Water Diver course to PADI Instructor Development course, and knowledge about marine animals to useful tips on how to maintain your scuba equipment.

“A lot of thought and effort has been put into all of these live streaming sessions. However, the outcome has been quite satisfying. Specifically, we have received more than 100 online enquiries during the Go Pro live streaming session. Overall, we believe all the extra work has been worth it.  ”

Diving Express Hong Kong

4 Mini PADI GoPro nights were hosted by a Platinum Course Director, Raymond Hung, at Diving Express Hong Kong. With the onsite support provided by PADI staff, Herman Wong and Roger Sun, these events have run successfully, and have attracted a total number of 42 attendees.

Taiwan Dive Center

Dylan Chen, the PADI Platinum Course Director and owner of Taiwan Dive Center, has shared his secret to success in promoting PADI Divemaster course and PADI Instructor Development course. One of his main tips is to utilise his student testimonials. From time to time, Dylan and his team will create a video compiling all of their student testimonials to be shared on social media. See below for one of their recent student testimonial videos. According to Dylan, this type of social media content has helped them achieve many enquiries from social media.
