The PADI Tec 50 Instructor Trainer course, hosted by PADI Asia Pacific in Cebu, Philippines, concluded successfully on Saturday, 15 November, 2025, marking another milestone in technical diving instruction in the region.
Over the course of five intensive days, a total of seven candidates completed the program, four from PADI Greater China and three from the Philippines. All seven participants demonstrated excellent performance throughout the program:

- Oscar Pico Gras – Cebu Fun Divers, Moalboal, Philippines
- Simon Siu Man Chan – Diving Adventure LTD, Hong Kong
- Pong Wai Chi – Moji Dive, Taiwan
- Qing Zhao – Beijing Scuba Mew Diving Club, China
- Wang Bo – Thirty Meters Diving Club, China
- Scott Livingstone – Scotty’s Action Sports Network, Mactan, Philippines
Learning Through Real-World Challenges
The program became a true test of adaptability when two consecutive typhoons and shifting water conditions required trainers and staff to adjust plans midway through the course. Rather than serving as a setback, these challenges became a valuable training moment as PADI staff modeled best practices, demonstrating the importance of contingency planning, acting decisively under unpredictable conditions and maintaining safety, standards and professionalism regardless of the environment. These real-world scenarios reinforced why preparation, flexibility and foresight are essential qualities for every PADI Tec Instructor Trainer.
The successful completion of this PADI Tec 50 Instructor Trainer program in Cebu reflects the continued growth of technical diving in the Philippines and the wider Asia Pacific region.
