You can use the PADI ReActivate® program to refresh basic scuba knowledge and skills for divers certified through other training organizations (proof of entry-level scuba certification with a minimum of four open water training dives) and provide them with recognition cards. Up until now, the digital product was linked to replacing a PADI® certification card, which made ReActivate recognition only accessible to PADI Divers.
ReActivate can be used for divers who want to refresh skills after a period of inactivity, or who are going on a dive trip and want to be sure they are ready. It’s also a great acquisition tool for getting divers from other organizations into your continuing education programs and assessing their readiness.
How does it work?
To use ReActivate for divers from other organizations:
- Check the diver’s certification card. It must be a qualifying entry-level certification (with minimum four open water training dives). If the diver’s card doesn’t have a photo on it, ask to see a photo identification card to match the name on the certification card and photo with the person. If you have any questions about the diver’s certification card, contact your PADI Regional Headquarters.
- Assign a PADI ReActivate eLearning access code. When assigning, you’ll be asked: Is the student a PADI Diver? Select “No,” then enter the diver’s name and contact information to send the ReActivate eLearning access code to the diver via email.
- Process the PADI ReActivate Recognition Card. Upon successful completion of both ReActivate eLearning and the inwater portion of the program, process the recognition card via the Online Processing Center in the same manner you process certification cards (Standard cards or the Project AWARE® version).
The ReActivate Recognition Card is not a certification card. It only identifies that the diver’s dive knowledge and entry-level skills have been refreshed.
This change will be incorporated into revisions to the PADI Instructor Manual and PADI’s Guide to Teaching.
