Bravo Jordan! … and well done to:
- Aqaba Governorate
- The Aqaba Special Economic Zone
- Aqaba Dive Association
- Aqaba Marine Rangers
With the sinking of 5 Ferret Armour Cars – started on the 7th of July – followed by the sinking of a decommissioned Jordanian Armed Forces’ AH-1 Cobra helicopter – completed on the 24th of July….
Aqaba can now count on the first Underwater Military Museum of the Red Sea coast!
The Museum Dive Site includes several tanks, an ambulance, a military crane, a troop carrier, an anti-aircraft battery, guns and a combat helicopter …without forgetting the already submerged C-130 Hercules transport aircraft (sunk in November 2017) and “The Tank” a M42 Duster originally used by the Jordanian Army which was scuttled as an artificial reef on September 1st 1999 by the Jordanian Royal Ecological Diving Society.
Aqaba’s shores, populated by amazing corals and fantastic dive sites – suitable for all diving levels from beginners to pros – will now have a newer attraction to attract even more tourists!
